Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of EasySweep for macOS, published by TouchBits Inc. (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you obtained EasySweep from the Mac App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies and takes precedence wherever the two conflict.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use EasySweep on Macs you own or control.
- The free app may be used indefinitely at no cost.
- EasySweep Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. A licence bought directly may be activated on up to the number of Macs it was sold for — 1, 2, or 3 — at a time; seats can be freed by deactivating a Mac from within the app. A purchase made through the Mac App Store is tied to your Apple Account with no device limit.
You may not resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app or a licence key, nor decompile, reverse-engineer or attempt to circumvent its licensing.
The catalogue of cleanable locations is published separately under the MIT licence and is governed by that licence, not by these terms. That licence covers the catalogue only; it grants no rights in the application itself.
2. What the app does — and the risk you accept
EasySweep deletes files at your instruction. This is the entire purpose of the app, and it is not reversible for most of what it removes. Please read this section properly.
- Nothing is selected by default. Files are deleted only after you tick them and press a clean button, or after you create an automation rule that names them.
- Items the app marks as irreversible — build archives and their dSYMs, simulator devices and their data, AI session history — cannot be recovered once removed.
- Application uninstalls move files to the Trash rather than deleting them, and remain recoverable until you empty it.
- The app identifies an application’s leftover files partly by name matching, which is inherently imperfect. Confidence is labelled for every item so you can judge it. Review the list before uninstalling.
- EasySweep relies on folder layouts used by Xcode and other third-party tools which are undocumented and may change without notice.
Keep backups. You are responsible for deciding what to delete and for maintaining backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. Use of Easy Sweep without a working backup strategy is at your own risk.
3. No warranty
EasySweep is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will identify every reclaimable file, or only reclaimable files.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, files, work product, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of EasySweep — whether or not we were advised of the possibility.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 10.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited, including consumer rights.
5. Purchases and refunds
Direct purchases are processed by Polar as merchant of record. We offer a full refund within 30 days of a direct purchase, no reason required — email [email protected]. A refunded licence is deactivated.
Purchases made through the Mac App Store are processed by Apple, and refunds for them are handled solely by Apple under its own policies. We can neither issue nor refuse an App Store refund.
Prices may change; a change never affects a purchase already made.
6. Updates and availability
We may release updates that change, add or remove functionality. We may discontinue either edition. If we discontinue the app, licences already purchased remain valid for the versions you have, and we will not remotely disable them.
7. Termination
This licence ends if you materially breach these terms. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. Sections 3, 4 and 9 survive termination.
8. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms; the current version always appears on this page with its date. Material changes do not apply retroactively to a purchase already made.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your place of residence.
